Fishing is strictly for members and day ticket holders only
All anglers must possess a landing net and disgorger.
Barbless hooks only!
No night fishing
No boilies / pop ups
No spinning or lure fishing
All fish must be returned to the water alive!
Litter must be taken home.
Bloodworm & joker may be used only between the months of October & February

 

Privacy Policy

Cwmcelyn Angling Club is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.
This notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your Membership with us in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
It applies to all Members

1. Cwmcelyn Angling Club is a “data controller”. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you. We are required under data protection legislation to notify you of the information contained in this respect.

i. This notice applies to existing Members and new members who join us. We already inform you that the details on your permit are kept on a computer. We also hold details for you on your membership application form and by email for those who subscribe to our Electronic News Letter.
ii.  It is important that you read this notice, together with any other privacy notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal information about you, so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information.

2. Data protection principles We will comply with data protection law. This says that the personal information we hold about you must be:

i. Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way.
ii. Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.
iii. Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes.
iv. Accurate and kept up to date.

3. The kind of information we hold about you Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

i. We will collect, store, and use the following categories of personal information
about you:
– Personal contact details such as name, title, addresses, telephone numbers, and personal email addresses.
– Date of birth.
– Gender
– Photographs. Where you have sent them to us for publication or to be displayed on your Permit.

4. How is your personal information collected?

i. We collect personal information about you from your membership Application form. Or email where you have elected to be sent by email our News Letter.

5. How we will use information about you. We will only use your personal information when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal information in the following circumstances:

i. To keep a record of your membership with us from year to year.
ii. If you are a continuous paid up member your details will be retained on our data base for the time you are a member.
iii. If you cease to become a member then at the end of September in the year following your paid up membership your details will be deleted.
iv. Your details will not be divulged to a third party.

6. Situations in which we will use your personal information

i. We need all the categories of information in the list above primarily to allow us to conduct the running of the Club for your benefit. This will include contacting you when your membership is up for renewal.
ii. Informing you should it be necessary to call a Special AGM, our Normal AGM is on the second Wednesday of November in any year.
iii. If you have registered your email address with us this will be used to contact you to send you our News Letter, to send you any petitions, notices, information regarding important changes to fishery Legislation. You are entitled to ask us not to send you any notices except the newsletter. You do not have to respond to any of these and any decision you make to respond further to the information we send you will be your choice.
iv. We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it.

7. Sensitivity
We consider that all the information we hold on you is sensitive and will not divulge it to anyone.

8. Our obligations

i. We will use information in the following ways:
o To contact you annually regarding your membership renewal
o To send you our newsletters if you have given us your registered email address for this purpose

9. Do we need your consent?
The fact that you have given us your personal details indicates that you have given us your consent to use your data in accordance with 5 above. If at any time you do not wish us to contact you inform us and your data with us will be deleted.

10. Data sharing
We will not share your data with any third party or member

11. 11. Data security
Your data will be kept by two separate individuals: The Treasurer and The Secretary.Your details will be kept on external hard drives or Memory Sticks that will only be connected to a main computer for inputting member’s information. Once the information has been collated they
will be disconnected.

12. Data retention

i. How long will you use my information for?
– If you are a continuous member your details will be on our data base from year to year. If you do not renew your membership by the end of September in the year following your data will be deleted.
– Email addresses of those members that have opted in to our Email Newsletter will be retained until we receive notification that you no longer wish to receive Email Newsletters or after a period of unsuccessful Email Delivery attempts.

13. Rights of access, correction, erasure, and restriction

i. Your duty to inform us of changes
You must inform us immediately of any change in your details such as change of ADDRESS. This is important as we could send you details through the post.

ii. Your rights in connection with personal information

i. Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:
o Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
o Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
o Request erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal information where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below).
o Object to processing You have the right to do this if we break our obligations.
o Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
o Request the transfer of your personal information to another party.
If you want to review, verify, correct or request erasure of your personal information, object to the processing of your personal data, or request that we transfer a copy of your personal information to another party, please contact. the Secretary in writing at Ambleside, 8 Monmouth Road, Abergavenny. iii. No fee required.

i. You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights).

iv. What we may need from you

i. We will need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the information (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that personal information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. You will need to make a request in writing giving all the details you have put on your membership application form you will also need to add your current permit number.

14. Right to withdraw consent

i. Where you have provided your consent to the collection, processing and transfer of your personal information for the purposes that we have agreed you have the right to withdraw this consent. email or write to the secretary as in 13.2.1. Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your information for the purpose or purposes you originally agreed to. We will not therefore be able to contact you on any Club
business.

15. Data Manager

i. Currently the Treasurer who deals with membership applications is the Data Manager. You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues.

16. Changes to this privacy notice

i. We reserve the right to update this privacy notice at any time, and we will provide you with a new privacy notice when we make any substantial updates. We may also notify you in other ways from time to time about the processing of your personal information.

Constitution

Title The Club shall be called Cwmcelyn Angling Club, hereafter to be referred to as “The Club” and shall be affiliated to the Angling Trust/Fish Legal Governing Body and or Angling Cymru.

  1. Objectives of The Club

    1.1 The provision of affordable angling opportunities for the community of Cwmcelyn and its wider membership.1.2 The conservation of fish and preservation of fisheries under The Club’s control.1.3 To promote angling and the enjoyment of the countryside wherever possible.1.4 To nurture and promote angling to the younger generation of anglers. To actively coach the skills needed to safely participate in the sport.1.5 To organise regular matches for the membership.1.6 When and wherever possible to acquire suitable fisheries for the benefit of the membership.

    1.7 To ‘Make Fishing Fun Again’.

    1.8 To advocate membership growth.

    1.9 Stabilise The Clubs finances and regularly explore expansion in terms of fisheries and activates available to members.

  2. Membership
    The following are eligible for membership.2.1 Membership of The Club shall be open to any person paying the relevant subscription/joining fee as determined by the Annual General Meeting of The Club members.2.2 There shall be (5) categories of membership available, these are.2.3 Full Adult Member.2.4 Senior Citizen member (over 65 years on January 1st).2.5 Disabled member (Those in possession of a concessionary disabled rod license)2.6 Junior member (aged between 13 and 15 years on January 1st).

    2.7 Cadet member (young persons aged up to 12 years on January 1st)

Honorary and Life memberships to be granted at the discretion of the executive committee.

3. Expulsion of members

Members of The Club whose conduct is inappropriate or who decline to abide by any of The Club rules may be expelled or suspended by a resolution of the committee where their entrance fee and subscriptions will be forfeited. Members shall have the right to appeal in person to the committee about any decision affecting themselves, provided that notice of appeal be submitted to the secretary in writing within 14 days of notification of the decision.

4. Officers. The officers of The Club shall be as follows;

Chairperson- Executive officer
Vice Chair – Non executive officer
Secretary- Executive officer
Assistant Secretary – Non executive officer
Treasurer- Executive officer.
Assistant Treasurer – Non executive officer
Match Secretary – Non executive officer
Assistant Match Secretary – Non executive officer
Junior Match Secretary – Non executive officer
Assistant Junior Match Secretary – Non executive officer
Social Media Secretary – Non executive officer
Membership Secretary – Non executive officer

5. Election of officers.
All officers shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting of The Club, from, and by, the members of The Club upon being a validated member ahead of the meeting.

All executive officers are elected for a period of 1 year, but may also be elected to another office

6. General Committee. The affairs of The Club shall be controlled by the general committee comprising of the executive officers of The Club and a minimum of 3 other members. The general committee shall meet not less than 10 times per year.

6.1 The duties of the general committee.

6.1.2 To control the affairs of The Club on behalf of all members.

6.1.3. To keep accurate accounts of the finances of The Club through the treasurer, these should be available for reasonable inspection by the members and should be audited before every AGM. The Club shall maintain a current account and the following officers shall be authorised to sign club cheques, two from the chairman, treasurer, secretary.

6.1.4. To co-opt additional members of the committee as the committee feels this is necessary.

6.1.5 To make decisions on the basis of a simple majority vote, in the case of equal votes, the chairperson shall be entitled to a casting vote

6.1.6 The committee are empowered to close any portion of water for fishing competitions.

6.1.7 A quorum for a committee shall be 3 full members and 2 officers of The Club.

7. General meetings.

7.1 The Annual General Meeting of The Club shall not be held later than the end of November each year. 21 clear days written notice shall be given to members of the AGM by posting a notice on The Club’s social media outlets. Members must advise the secretary in writing of any business to be moved at the AGM at least 14 days before a meeting.

7.2. The business of the AGM shall be to:

7.2.1. Confirm the minutes of the previous AGM and any general meetings held since the last AGM.

7.2.2. Receive the audited accounts for the year from the Treasurer.

7.2.3. Elect the officers of The Club (ie Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and other General committee members and Match secretary) as required.

7.2.4. Transact such other business received in writing by the secretary from members 14 days prior to the meeting and included in the agenda.

7.3. Special general meetings may be convened by the general committee on receipt by the secretary of a request in writing, from not less than 10 full members of The Club. At least 21 days notice of the meeting shall be given.

7.4. Nomination of candidates for election of officers shall be made at the AGM. Nominations can only be made by Full members and must be seconded by another Full member.

7.5. At all general meetings, the chair will be taken by the Chairperson or, in their absence, by the Vice Chairperson of The Club or by a Full member attending the meeting.

7.6. Decisions made at a General meeting shall be by a two third majority of votes from those full members attending the meeting.

7.7. A quorum for a General meeting shall be 3 Full members and 2 officers of The Club including 1 from the Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer.

7.8. Each Full member of The Club shall be entitled to one vote at General meetings.

7.9. Any proposals forwarded to the AGM can only be accepted and detached if the proposer is present.

8. Alterations to the Constitution

8.1. Any proposed alterations to The Club constitution may only be considered at an AGM or Special General meeting, convened with the required written notice of the proposal. Any alteration or amendment must be proposed by a Full member of The Club and seconded by another full member. Such alterations shall be passed if supported by not less than two-thirds of those Full members present at the meeting, assuming that a quorum has been achieved.

9. Dissolution

9.1. If at any General meeting of The Club, a resolution be passed calling for the dissolution of The Club, the Secretary shall immediately convene a Special General meeting of The Club to be held not less than one month thereafter to discuss and vote on resolution.

9.2. If at that Special General meeting, the resolution is carried by at least two-thirds of the Full members present at the meeting, the General Committee shall thereupon, or at such date as shall have been specified in the resolution, proceed to realise the assets of The Club and discharge all debts and liabilities of The Club.

9.3. After discharging all debts and liabilities of The Club, the remaining assets shall not be paid or distributed amongst the Full members of The Club, but shall be given or transferred to some other voluntary organisation having objects similar to those of The Club, at the decision of the Committee.
